Module 1: Psychology of Learning 101
Understand how your horse thinks and learns for better communication and riding.
  • Discover how horses learn and how can we teach and train them in a way that is effective and fun for both horse and human.
  • Learn why something called an "extinction burst" makes us give up on our training right before we succeed.
  • Recognize how understanding the horses ethology and behavior in domestic life affects how we should train them.
  • Explore the latest research on equine learning, cognition, and behavior.
Module 2: Taking it to the Barn
How do we use our knowledge of psychology in different situations on the ground and in the saddle?
  • Learn to use both pressure or rewards so that the horse understands what we want and doesn't get frustrated.
  • Ride in a way where you can be clear and effective with your aids, whether riding a dressage test, jumping a course, or hitting the trails.
  • Teach your horse anything you want, with a way of training he can understand.

Module 3: Problem Solving with the Science of Behavior
Do you have specific behavior challenges with your horse? In this module, we look at how to work past these issues.
  • Learn to change your horse's behaviors, teaching him alternatives to "bad habits" such as pulling when leading, kicking his stall at feeding time, or even bucking when being ridden.
  • Understand why horses repeat certain behaviors so you can prevent bad habits before they start.
Module 4: Performance
Do more with your horse than you ever imagined, by applying learning theory at every level and discipline of riding.
  • How to bring a young horse along correctly so they become responsive and soft.
  • Teaching contact and frame using the science of learning (a much different method and philosophy than most modern Dressage training).
  • Discover the common mistakes riders make when jumping, why they often result in refusals or falls, and how to avoid them.
  • Improve your seat and balance as a rider with specific exercises to feel the correct position.

"I loved the course and learning about the horse, with science to back it up. It is such a comfortable, safe environment to learn while at home, sipping a cup of tea and knowing if I miss something I can review as many times as I need to. I love having "homework" and working on being better for and with my horses. Asking questions, getting answers and hearing others questions and answers is so valuable."
Meara Peters

"My advice, JUST DO THIS. You will NOT regret it. This is an incredible opportunity to learn from the best in a relaxed atmosphere with a flexible timescale. You owe this to your horse(s)."
Brooks Conforti

"It was a leap of faith to pay for a course unseen, but Callie’s CRK online training has been very helpful, and the description of Angelo’s course resonated... Angelo’s approach is thought provoking and sound. In addition to offering tips on handling specific issues, he helped me mentally step back and consider different ways to accomplish goals, large or small. Others will have their own successes and “aha” moments, but I will just say I have been able to achieve a number of things with my horse through Science of Horsemanship that have made a significant difference in our relationship and ability to get over some challenging hurdles."
